Refreshing Stale French Baguette and French Bread
- Wrap stale baguette or stale French bread in a moist lint-free clean cotton dish cloth (torchon). Let the stale bread absorb the moisture for about 15 minutes.
- In the meantime, preheat oven to 350 °F. When the 15 minutes have passed, unwrap stale French baguette or bread and place it in preheated oven for a few minutes. And voilà, your baguette will come out nice and crunchy. Enjoy!
- Another sweet way to use stale bread or stale French baguette is to make “pain perdu” — literally means “ruined bread”. Pain perdu is a delicious dessert and for many brings back cherished childhood memories. Enjoy and bon appétit!
