Remember this summer when we brought you pictures from French women at the farmers market? That was such fun to get a glimpse at the various styles of farmers market baskets available in France – so many different choices, and that was only in the “traditional farmers market baskets” category, love that! Well today, we are looking at other ways you can creatively use a farmers market basket this winter – practical ways but also simply to add a touch of French country deco to your interior. So here are 4 simple ideas on how you can use French market baskets during the holiday season and throughout winter.
- Santa Claus Sack (Hotte du Père Noël) – use it to store and display wrapped presents that may go into stockings or that are smaller. They can wait in a beautiful market basket until you are ready to place them under the tree. Great way to warm up your home with the holiday spirit and get ahead at the same time!
- Fireplace – perfect to store your kindling beautifully and add a French farm look to your fireplace area.
- Inspired Reading Time – can neatly store your favorite magazines or the book you are currently reading. You can also carry it around to bring your ongoing reading joy wherever you feel like reading that day. Also great to store children’s book to encourage reading and give them the gift of loving to read.
- In an Home Office – you can also use it as a paper waste basket next to your desk (with newspaper to cover the bottom). Works great for smaller market baskets (20 inches or less in length) which are a bit too small anyway to shop at the farmers market with. Will adds a great French country look to the office!
