1 Green Idea to Always Have Lemon Zest in Your Kitchen

Art of the Home Tip to Have Lemon Zest ready To Go

Before squeezing a lemon for a lemonade, tea or a recipe:

  1. Wash lemon and peel it using your vegetable peeler.  Put lemon peels in a small freezing back and put in the freezer.  You will always have lemon peels handy to zest.  Using a microplane, you will be able to zest the essential oils of those lemon peels for about 6 months after freezing them.
  2. You can also leave the lemon peels in a small glass container in the fridge for about 1 week.
  3. This kitchen tip works also for oranges.  Et voilà!
